Markers Stretching

Using the Markers Stretching form, you copy the markers of the source wellbore to the target wellbore. Copying the well markers is done using the well marker TVD, which means that the MD for the same marker in both wellbores does not have to be the same. You can perform the same operation using the WBS Sensitivity form, where not only the markers, but all the data from the case can be copied.

On the form, all the markers that are available for the source wellbore are listed.

  1. In case you have no markers for the target well yet, you can copy the markers from the source wellbore to the target wellbore. You can quickly select all the markers using the context menu. Right-mouse click anywhere in the table with the markers to open the context menu and select Select All.
  2. After making a selection, the Execute button is activated.
  3. Click Execute to copy the markers to the target wellbore.
  4. An information icon or exclamation mark is shown at the bottom of the form, providing information about the mapping process. When you see the information icon, the copying of the markers was successful and all the markers of the source wellbore are now available in the target wellbore as well. When you see the orange exclamation mark, the application has run into something unexpected. Review the message to see what the issue is and try to resolve the issue. An example of a warning could be that not all the source markers have been mapped to the target well.

Click OK to close the form and go the next step of the workflow, QC-ing the mapping of the markers in the Depth Stretching View.
